Breastfeeding

Okay so depending on how much milk you produce a day for your baby will depend on how many more calories you need to eat. And how many more calories YOU need to eat is different for every person as not everyone has the same total daily energy expenditure. So if breast feeding around 500 and 1000 kcal/day. You don't want to deprive your milk or baby from nutrients. Most of whom were losing weight, had an average daily intake of 690 kcal/day.

Additional energy needs for an exclusively breastfeeding woman are approximately 670 kcal/day. If one allows for gradual weight loss, the net increment needed is about 500 kcal/day.

If you are breastfeeding then a recommendation of 20g of extra protein is advised which makes up around 80 calories.
